Free parking! Location very close to the Marina district, within walking distance to many good restaurants for any meal of the day and any budget. It was clean and comfortable, a nice hideout for a nap after a long day of sightseeing. No bed bugs! No bad smells! The price was decent for the location and free parking.
With the window open, you could kind of hear a rather jovial and boisterous crowd that seemed to gather outside a local bar/restaurant nearby, which probably went on until late in the night. It didn't bother us as we were pretty tired and got in fairly late ourselves, and kept the window closed at night. You probably can't hear this noise from every room in the hotel though.
room was not very clean and little bite old (needs to be refresh)
Location and free parking
Very small rooms and noise issues,
The location could not be better. The Marina District has easy access to public transportation that can get you to any part of the city. It is much quieter than downtown hotels. Proximity to Fisherman's Wharf, The Presidio, The Golden Gate Bridge and other tourist destinations make The Greenwich Inn a perfect starting point your San Francisco adventures. There are also many fine restaurants and an upscale shopping are within a couple of blocks of the hotel. The free parking is a definite plus.
The Greenwich Inn is in desperate need of a remodel and upgrade. The rooms are dingy and worn and our room had no air conditioning. The amenities are very basic: refrigerator, microwave coffee maker and iron. Do not expect any extras here, just a very basic room to sleep for the night.
a lot of shops around the area
a lot of bugs....now i have red spots all over my arms
A very nice Inn in a great location at a very good price.
Great location, clean rooms
The price was somewhat high for Friday. Found a place just as good 2 blocks away for half the price for Saturday night. I moved there.
Location was great. Many good restaurants to select from within a few blocks. Public transit within one block. Less street noise than hotels that front on Lombard.
Walls are a bit thin so night owl folks in the adjacent room made sleeping a bit difficult. Should have brought my earplugs.
We have stayed here before and liked it. It fits our need when we come to the city now that we have moved away. The staff is helpful and the rooms are clean and functional. When we where in the area we recommended this Inn to our friends.
The fire house down the street, but if there were a fire I would not mind so much.
The Greenwich Inn is convenient to all the attractions in downtown San Francisco. We walked to Fisherman's Wharf and took an easy bus ride to Chinatown. We were impressed with the neighorhood. It seemed that all the patrons and all the servers at all the nearby restaurants knew each other.
Location easy to find and room was clean.
The location was noisy through early hours of the morning.
The room was reasonably quiet, and included hair dryer, frig, and coffee maker, all of which we used. We felt that it was a really excellent value for the money for a San Francisco hotel. It would be easy to pay twice as much and not get as nice a place--and this hotel has free parking. Many restaurants and small shops very close. Post office and Safeway less than a mile away.
I spent there 2 nights, my room was clean and confortable, the hotel is in a quiet neighborhood near presidio and golden gate. Staff is friendly and helpful. A parking area for customers not be underestimated in a city like S. Francisco. Don't expect luxury accommodation, but a nice (and budget) place to spend the night after visit city.
Cheap place in SF. Free wi-fi and parking place.
It was ok. A block or two away from good restaurants and shops, etc. Room spacious Staff helpful with storing luggage and arranging shuttle to airport (tho' they seemed to get a cut in this, cost a bit more than if we had self-arranged)
Room smelt a bit stale, not too bad but noticeable. No real ventilation - there were louvres in bathroom but no way to open them. Dead rat had been lying in garden beside stairway for a while - it appeared to be "normal" And maybe the rubbish bins could be more out of sight or at least away from the local tramps. Despite that, OK - but a bit more effort could raise the standard and improve the experience, I got he impression, rightly or wrongly, that as far as this place goes, that's just how it is here, get used to it.
